TPU: Successful Setup Logs Two Error Entries in TPUSetup.log File

ID: Q240717

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Team Productivity Update for BackOffice Server 4.5

SYMPTOMS

After you successfully install Team Productivity Update, two log entries are written to the TPUSetup.log file in the Temp folder. The two entries are:

The shortcut 'tptk\common\setup\readme.htm' could not locate a file 'tptk\common\setup\readme.htm'. (apshort.cpp:441)
CIISAdminBase: OpenKey failed - Non-existant metabase key /LM/W3svc/1/Root/TPUWeb (iisadminbase.cpp:120)

CAUSE

The first entry references the Readme.htm file located on the installation CD-ROM. This file is not accessible on the CD-ROM in the location specified.

The second entry is generated when Setup performs a Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) 4.0 metabase lookup to verify that the TPUWeb virtual folder does not currently exist. This entry is written because OpenKey does not locate the TPUWeb virtual folder, allowing Setup to use TPUWeb for the TPU Web site virtual folder name.

RESOLUTION

This logging is normal behavior, and should not be considered a problem with the Team Productivity Update installation.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
