SBS: Faxing from Outlook Client Does Not Work If There Is No Text in the Message Body

SYMPTOMS

When a Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT Small Business Server client attempts to send a fax from within Microsoft Outlook, the fax may not be sent.


CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the fax has no text in the message body. If there is no text in the message body, the fax job is not rendered.

This issue may occur when you attempt to test faxing from Outlook by creating a fax with no text. This may make it appear that faxing from Outlook is not working.


RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, include some text in the message body (below the Subject line).
