RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem:

If You Are Not Using the IPX/SPX Protocol for Winsock Proxy Clients

  1. On the computer running BackOffice Small Business Server (SBS), start Windows Explorer, and then go to the Msp\Clients folder.

  2. Make a copy of the Mspclnt.ini file.

  3. Start NotePad, and then open the Mspclnt.ini file. On the Search menu, click Find, type [Servers IPX] in the Find what box, and then click Find Next.

  4. After the [Servers IPX] entry is found in the Mspclnt.ini file, click Cancel to close the Find dialog box.

  5. Delete the [Servers IPX Address] section of the Mspclnt.ini file.

  6. On the File menu, click Save, and then close NotePad.

If You Are Using the IPX/SPX Protocol

  1. On the computer running SBS, start Windows Explorer, and go to the Msp\Clients folder.

  5. In the [Servers IPX Address] section, you should have a line similar to:
    Addr1=55555555-000000000001
    Where 55555555 is the server's Internal Network Number and the 000000000001 is the server's Media Access Control address. If this entry exists, verify that the IPX address matches the computer's IPX internal network number. For more information, please see the Proxy online Help file.

  6. On the File menu, click Save, and then close the Mspclnt.ini file.
