TPU: Cannot Install Outlook 2000 from TPU Installation Page

SYMPTOMS

When you install Microsoft Outlook 2000 to a client computer from the Team Productivity Update (TPU) Client Software Installation Page, you may receive an error message similar to the following:

Cannot Launch C:\WINNT\Profiles\User\Desktop\instmsi.exe

The system cannot find the file specified.


CAUSE

This issue can occur if you save the Outlook 2000 Setup.exe file to disk using the Save this program to disk command in Microsoft Internet Explorer.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, click Run this program from its current location when you are prompted with the File Download dialog box, and then click OK.

NOTE: The Client Software Installation Page gives instructions about how to install the program.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Team Productivity Update for BackOffice Server 4.5.
