TPU: Maximum of Nine Outlook Bar Groups Can Be Displayed on a Team Workspace Home Page

SYMPTOMS

After you create 10 or more Team Productivity Update (TPU) workspaces, only 9 Outlook bar groups are displayed either in Microsoft Internet Explorer or from within Microsoft Outlook. When you are managing the Outlook bar groups by using the TPU home page, an attempt to add more than 9 groups results in the following error message:

More than nine groups have been selected. You can add a maximum of nine Team Workspace groups to your Outlook Bar.
Selecting a Team Workspace that is not displayed on the Outlook bar on the TPU start page generates the following error message:
To access this Team Workspace, it must appear on your Outlook Bar. You can have a maximum of nine Team Workspace groups in your Outlook Bar. If you already have nine groups, the Manage Outlook Bar Groups page will display.
Clicking OK opens the Manage Outlook Bar Groups page. Clicking Cancel causes Internet Explorer to remain at the TPU start page, and the workspace is not displayed.


CAUSE

Displaying only nine Outlook bar groups at one time is by product design.


WORKAROUND

Because only nine groups can be displayed at one time, it may be necessary to change which Outlook bar groups are displayed for specific users. To do so:

  1. As the appropriate user, open the TPU start page in Internet Explorer.


  2. Click Manage Outlook Bar Groups.


  3. Select the appropriate groups to be displayed, choosing a maximum of nine groups.



STATUS

This behavior is by design.
