SYMPTOMSWhen you try to run a grantuser command on a project with a large Access Control List (ACL), you get the following 1344 error message:
CAUSEThis is a limitation of the command line interface, which only allows a 4- KB buffer or approximately 11 user permissions per project. WORKAROUND
WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that
may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot
guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor
can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Commercial Internet System version 1.0 and Microsoft Site Server version 2.0. This problem has been corrected in the latest U.S. Service Pack for Site Server 2.0 Service Pack 1. For information on obtaining the Service Pack, query on the following word in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (without the spaces): S E R V P A C K MORE INFORMATIONThe buffer for the command line interface has been increased to 64 KB, which will allow approximately 176 user permissions per project.
