Proxy Server Port Ignored by Software

SYMPTOMS

In Import Module, if you select Options on the Tools menu, and then click the IP Servers tab to go to the HTTP Proxy field, Usage Analyst may not correctly use the port number specified if it is changed from the default port of 80. Usage Analyst will continue to communicate on port 80 regardless of the change.

WORKAROUND

To workaround this problem, perform one of the following:

• Configure your proxy server to work on port 80.

• Provide the Usage Analyst box with a direct connection to the Internet.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Usage Analyst included with Site Server version 2.0.
