SYMPTOMSThe Microsoft Management Console (MMC) may stop responding indefinitely when a console file is loaded with a publishing snap-in. CAUSEUnder some conditions, a deadlock may occur between the main MMC thread (owning all windows) and a worker thread created by the publishing snap-in to initialize the connection to the publishing server. RESOLUTION
A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from
Microsoft, but has not been fully regression tested and should be applied
only to systems experiencing this specific problem. If you are not
severely affected by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you
wait for the next Site Server 3.0 service pack.
