SYMPTOMSWhen you specify a SQL Server name that has a hyphen in it, the following error is returned in the Microsoft Site Server Analysis database setup for SQL Server:
CAUSENewer versions of SQL Server 6.x allow hyphens in the SQL Server name; however, the Analysis database setup application adheres to the old SQL Server naming rules. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, apply the latest Site Server 3.0 service pack. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Site Server version 3.0. This problem has been corrected in the
latest U.S. service pack for Microsoft Site Server version 3.0. For information on obtaining the service pack, query on the
following word in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (without the spaces): S E R V P A C K MORE INFORMATIONRun Update.exe to install the fix. Update.exe renames the Dbsetupds.exe to Dbsetup.exe.
