Search Does Not Refresh Security Changes on Public Folders

After crawling an Exchange Server public folder, you may notice that security changes made to public folder documents are not recognized by Site Server Search, even after full or incremental builds are run.

Site Server Search refreshes Exchange Server public folder security in eight-hour increments. To change this time interval, go to the following registry key:

KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Site Server\3.0\Search\Exchange

Add a DWORD value of CacheMinutes. The minimum value of this key is 15, which can cause the security settings to be refreshed every 15 minutes.
