SYMPTOMSCatalog propagation fails when there are pending search queries on computer running Site Server Search. CAUSEDuring propagation, when one catalog is being replaced with a new one, it waits for all queries on the old catalog to complete. However, it only waits as long as it takes for a query to timeout and fail (approximately two minutes). After this point, if there are still active queries, it assumes that the queries should have timed out or succeeded, and therefore, the update fails. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, install the latest service pack for Site Server 3.0. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Site Server version 3.0. This problem has been corrected in the
latest U.S. service pack for Microsoft Site Server version 3.0. For information on obtaining the service pack, query on the
