Content Deployment Attribute Change Is Not Deployed Automatically

SYMPTOMS

Microsoft Site Server Content Deployment will not deploy files if the only thing changed in the file is the attributes.

CAUSE

Content Deployment will only deploy files if the size or the date/time stamp have been changed.

WORKAROUND

To resolve this issue, try the following workarounds:

1. Touch the file using Touch.exe. This tool can be found in the Windows NT Resource Kit.



2. Modify the date stamp by saving the file to reflect the latest modified date.



3. Modify the content of the file to reflect the latest update of the file.



4. Force the deployment of all contents from the source directory by using the following command:

   sscd startrep <project name> /force

   -OR-
   
   In the Site Server Microsoft Management Console, select Publishing, and then select the property of the project. On the Advanced tab, choose Force Deployment of All Files.
