  • Microsoft Commercial Internet System version 1.0

SUMMARY

There have been many software upgrades since the release of Microsoft Commercial Internet System (MCIS) 1.0. These upgrades, such as Internet Explorer and Windows NT Service Pack 4, are not compatible with MCIS 1.0. Installing Internet Explorer 4.0 or Windows NT SP4 will break the MCIS 1.0 installation.

MORE INFORMATION

The following installation requirements, as noted in the MCIS 1.0 documentation, must be adhered to in order to get a successful installation of MCIS 1.0:

  • I486/33+ or Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) Alpha processor

  • Microsoft Windows NT Server version 4.0 with Service Pack 1 and fix # 54039

  • 64 MB of random access memory (RAM)

  • Hard disk with a minimum of 1 gigabyte (GB) for SQL Server and the basic database setup, plus 0.5p GB per 1 million users

  • Microsoft SQL Server version 6.5

NOTE: Microsoft is no longer providing any fixes or service packs for MCIS 1.0. Microsoft only supports the configuration as outlined in the MCIS 1.0 documentation.
