XWEB: Properties of Office Documents in Exchange Public Folders are not Indexed

ID: Q237416

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Site Server version 3.0

SYMPTOMS

When users attempt to locate documents by specifying properties of the documents (such as Keyword, or Author), they will not get a hit if the documents are stored in an Exchange Server public folder. This is true if the documents are stored as free documents in the folder, or are attachments to messages.

CAUSE

The properties of documents stored in Exchange Server public folders are not emitted to the search engine.
