SYMPTOMSWhen you use Site Server Search to build and propagate a catalog, the catalog propagates on the initial crawl, but fails to propagate on subsequent crawls. In the application event log, the following events are listed:
CAUSEThe noise files (noise.*) located in <Site Server Root>\data\search\config and <Site Server Root>\data\search\projects\<catalog name>\build\ixbuild may be marked as read-only. RESOLUTIONMake sure that the noise.* files are marked as read/write. MORE INFORMATIONDuring the crawl process, the noise files (noise.*) are copied from <site server root>\data\search\config to <site server root>\data\search\projects\<catalog name>\build\ixbuild. During each build, if the files already exist in the destination folder and are read-only, the files are not overwritten and propagation fails. Additional query words:
