SYMPTOMS

When attempting to make a purchase in the Microsoft Market sample site, the following error message appears:

CAUSE

There is no value in the Name field of the registered user who is making the purchase.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, reregister providing a value in the Name field.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

1. Browse the Microsoft Market sample site (http://ServerName/market/).



2. Click Register me now!!!.



3. On the Registration Page, type information in all fields except the Name field, and then click Register User.



4. Select an item and then make a purchase.
