SYMPTOMSWhen creating a new Membership Server instance with Site Server 3.0, Service Pack 2 (SP2), and attempting to use a SQL Server 7.0 database where the database name begins with a numeric character, the following error message appears: Instead of an error that says that the Membership Server failed, a warning should be instead be displayed by the wizard to prevent you from using a database that begins with a numeric character. NOTE: Not being able to use a database that begins with a numeric character is by design, in order to provide backwards compatibility to SQL Server 6.5. WORKAROUNDUse database names in that the first character of the name begins with a letter rather than a number. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Site Server 3.0.
