Mbrmgmt Requires Refreshes When Database Is Partitioned

ID: Q243580

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Site Server version 3.0

SYMPTOMS

When you refresh a container in the Microsoft Management Console (MMC), the following error message may occur if the SQL Server computer has been recently restarted:

No Objects Found

CAUSE

A reconnect only occurs to one partition at a time.

WORKAROUND

The container can be refreshed by refreshing once for each partition in the database. For instance, if there are five partitions, then it takes five refreshes to see the objects in the members container.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Site Server service pack that contains this fix.

To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the fix. For a complete list of Microsoft Product Support Services phone numbers and information on support costs, please go to the following address on the World Wide Web:
