Memory Leak in Pipeline Caching Component

The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

There is a memory leak of 64 bytes after every call to the pipeline caching component (Commerce.ConfigurationCacheHelper).


CAUSE

This is caused by a coding error in Pipeline.dll - a QueryInterface() call was made without a corresponding Release().


WORKAROUND

Don't use pipeline caching.


RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Site Server Service Pack that contains this fix.
