SYMPTOMSAs more files are added to the hard disk drive of an Apple Macintosh computer, the total scan time for software inventory may increase as expected. However, the deletion of files from the hard disk does not decrease the total scan time. RESOLUTIONA supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but
it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems
experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this
specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Systems Management Server service pack

To install the hotfix, you must use Hdecomp.exe (found in the Support directory of the Systems Management Server 1.2 CD). Expand the file to a user authentication module (UAM) volume, and place it in the Site.srv\Maincfg.box\Client.src\Mac.bin directory on each site server. Macintosh clients must run the Systems Management Server Installer script to get the updated INVMAC file.
