SYMPTOMSIf you specify a servername prefixed by "\\", and the sender tries to connect to the computer using \\\\servername, the connection may fail. Specify the server name without the two backslashes in front for the Sender address box. CAUSESender prepends "\\" to the server name specified in the Sender address. The sender log displays the following information:
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Systems Management Server version 2.0. This problem has been corrected in the
latest U.S. service pack for Systems Management Server version 2.0. For information on obtaining the service pack, query on the
following word in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (without the spaces): S E R V P A C K This has been fixed in Systems Management Server 2.0 Service Pack 1. Even if \\servername is specified in the Sender address box, Lan Sender parses the name correctly. Additional query words: prodsms
