SYMPTOMSThe TN3270 Server service generates a Dr. Watson error. The Drwtsn32.log shows that an access violation occurred in the TN3270 GetHonestyLicense() function. CAUSEThe access violation occurs because a session control block was being accessed by the TN3270 licensing code outside the critical section used to protect session control blocks. RESOLUTIONThe TN3270 Server service has been updated to correct this problem. The updated file is Tn3servr.exe. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SNA Server version 2.11 Service Pack 1 (SP1). A supported fix is now available, but has not been fully regression-tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. Unless you are severely impacted by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Service Pack that contains this fix.
