APPC Call to GET_LU_STATUS() Never Returns

Microsoft SNA Server, version 3.0

SYMPTOMS

When calling GET_LU_STATUS to determine the status of a particular APPC LU (when Sync Point conversations are being used), the call never returns.

CAUSE

The APPC library was not properly processing the response from the SNA Server, causing the GET_LU_STATUS call to fail to return.

RESOLUTION

A hotfix to SNA Server 3.0 (Post SP1) is available to correct this problem.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SNA Server, version 3.0. A supported fix is now available, but has not been fully regression-tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. Unless you are severely impacted by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Service Pack that contains this fix.
