SYMPTOMSWhen you start the SNA Manager while the Windows NT Server computer that hosts the primary SNA Server computer is not reachable, the following message is displayed: When you click OK in response to this message, SNA Manager reports the following on the information bar of the subdomain window:
CAUSEThis only happens if the backup SNA Server computer where SNA Manager is running was able to read the configuration file from the Primary SNA Server when it started. The configuration path in the shared memory then points to the primary SNA Server computer because that is the currently active configuration file. There is no mechanism to switch to a backup configuration file other than at startup time. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SNA Server versions 3.0 and 3.0 Service Pack 1. This problem was corrected in the latest SNA Server version 3.0 U.S. Service Pack.
