5250 App Doesn't Support Accelerator Keys from Sign-on Box

• Microsoft SNA Server, versions 2.11, 2.11 SP1, 2.11 SP2, 3.0, 3.0 SP1, 3.0 SP2, 4.0

SYMPTOMS

The SNA 5250 application does not provide any accelerator keys (shortcut keys) in the sign-on dialog box for the User ID and Password fields.

CAUSE

The SNA 5250 application was not designed to include accelerator keys for these entries.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SNA Server versions 2.11 (all SPs), 3.0, 3.0 SP1, 3.0 SP2, and 4.0. We are currently researching this problem and will post more information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

This problem was corrected in the latest SNA Server version 4.0 U.S. Service Pack. For information on obtaining this Service Pack, query on the following word in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (without the spaces):
