Under some circumstances, an APPC or RUI application running on an
SNA
Server Windows NT client may appear to return data slowly. Data
meant for
the client is returned in normal fashion, but the SNA client's
DMOD (part
of the client server interface) is not sending this data to the
application in a timely manner.
CAUSEA rampipe thread semaphore was being overwritten when multiple initializations of the DMOD through RUI and APPC were made. RESOLUTIONSNA Server 3.0To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for SNA Server version 3.0. For additional information, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:Q184307 How to Obtain the Latest SNA Server Version 3.0 Service Pack SNA Server 4.0Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SNA Server version 4.0 4.0 SP1. This problem was corrected in the latest SNA Server version 4.0 U.S. Service Pack.
