INF: Setting Up RPCs Between Sybase and SQL Server for OS/2

ID: Q109201

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft SQL Server version 4.2x
on the following platforms: NT, OS/2

Setting up RPCs between a Sybase Server and an OS/2 SQL Server through SQL Bridge is basically the same as setting up RPCs between two OS/2 SQL Servers. The only difference is when adding the remote server name on the local server; you should use the logical name for the connection instead of the actual remote server name.

When SQL Server for OS/2 is the local server, the logical connection is in the OS2.INI file. When the local server is the Sybase server, the logical connection is in the Sybase interface file, .

Try the isql -Usa -P -Slogical-connection first to make sure the connection between Sybase and OS/2 SQL Server is valid.
