SYMPTOMSThe DB-Library (DB-Lib) function dbconvert will return SUCCEED when converting a string to DATETIME, even if the time portion has not been correctly specified. The same string will cause an error if an attempt is made to convert it to DATETIME using the Transact SQL CONVERT function. CAUSEThe dbconvert function is not correctly flagging an incorrect time as an error. WORKAROUNDRun the Transact SQL CONVERT function to verify the validity of the string to be converted. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in DB-Library version 4.20.00.
