SYMPTOMSWhen you grant privileges to the default domain, Domain Users or Domain Admins groups, SQL Security Manager will actually grant permissions for the machine's domain, not SQL's default domain as set up in the SQL security options. WORKAROUNDThe correct domain groups can be added by creating local groups on the SQL server and adding the desired domain, Domain Users and Domain Admins groups. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft SQL Server version 4.21a. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available. Additional query words: Security Manager xp_grantlogin
