SYMPTOMSWhen you insert a row inside a stored procedure (SP) into a temporary table that contains a timestamp column in a situation where the temporary table was created outside the SP and was deleted after the creation of the SP, the timestamp column is set to 0 when the SP is called. WORKAROUNDIf the SP gets called once after its creation and before the original table is dropped, the timestamp is set to a correct value in all subsequent calls. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft SQL Server version 6.0. This problem was corrected in Service Pack 2 for SQL Server version 6.0.
