SYMPTOMS

When you link with the SQL Server 6.0 version of RMDBLIB.LIB and run the application on an MS-DOS operating system using a Novell network, the application can stop or cause the computer to restart. Other protocols do not exhibit the same behavior and the 4.21a RMDBLIB.LIB does not exhibit the same behavior on the Novell network.

WORKAROUND

  1. Link the application with the SQL Server 4.21a version of RMDBLIB.LIB.

  2. Use a different network to connect to the SQL Server.
