SYMPTOMS

The SQL Server 6.50 group of icons and the SQL Server Client Utilities icons do not exist on a computer that has been upgraded remotely.

CAUSE

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, follow these steps:

  1. Copy the Setup.exe file from the server to the client machine.

  2. Rebuild the SQL Server Registry entries and the icons will be generated. To do this, from a command prompt, type:

    cd \<root of SQL>\binn
    setup /t RegistryRebuild = On

Be sure to type the setup command exactly as indicated, including capitalization. There must be a space on both sides of the equal sign (=).
