BUG: SQL-DMO's ::ImportData Method Does Not Function Properly

SYMPTOMS

When you invoke the SQL Server Distributed Management Object's (SQL-DMO) ::ImportData method from a Visual Basic application, you receive runtime error 10050 when the import file contains more rows than the specified Bulk Copy Program (BCP) batch size.


CAUSE

Error 10050 is an informational message from DB-Library informing the caller that a batch has been successfully copied to the SQL Server.



STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft SQL Server version 6.5. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
