SYMPTOMSWhen using SQL Enterprise Manager to add a new linked server for distributed queries, you are required to use only uppercase characters for the linked server name. This way, you can use both uppercase and lowercase characters for your linked server name and Enterprise Manager will then show the name of your linked server without converting it to all uppercase characters.
