BUG #: 53157 (SQLBUG_70) SYMPTOMS
The Index Tuning Wizard does not work on a table that has a table name defined using Unicode characters (such as Russian characters). Database names and column names defined using Unicode characters do not affect Index Tuning Wizard behavior. When you run "Perform Index Analysis" on a Unicode named table using the SQL Server Query Analyzer you get the following message in the results window:
WORKAROUNDUse non-Unicode characters to name your tables. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server
version 7.0. This problem has been corrected in U.S. Service Pack 1
for Microsoft SQL Server version 7.0. For information about
downloading and installing the latest SQL Server Service Pack, see
http://support.microsoft.com/support/sql/.
