FIX: SQL Server Error 613 Does Not Show Supplemental Message Information

SYMPTOMS

In some cases, when the message below is displayed either in the SQL Server error log or a client application, the message text may be incorrectly omitted from the error, resulting in a cryptic error message:

MSG: 613, Severity 21 Request made to retrieve more rows from an already completed scan of object '%.*s' in database '%.*s'.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server version 6.5. This problem has been corrected in U.S. Service Pack 5a for Microsoft SQL Server version 6.5. For information about downloading and installing the latest SQL Server Service Pack, see http://support.microsoft.com/support/sql/.
