BUG #: 18661 (SQLBUG_65) SYMPTOMSLocal connections to SQL will show a delay of 3 to 12 seconds after dbcc Checkdb has been run multiple times. Network connections do not have a delay in establishing new connections and changing the net library or security method does not change the effect. RESOLUTIONA supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but
it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems
experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this
specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next SQL Server service pack

Running the Maintenance Wizard in SQL Server Enterprise Manager by default runs dbcc Checkdb against the database scheduled for backup.
