CAUSESetup for SQL Server 7.0 detects that an earlier version of SQL Server has been installed and attempts to copy the registry keys that store the configuration information for the previous version. If the account you are using to install SQL Server 7.0 does not have the appropriate permissions on these registry keys, this error will be displayed. WORKAROUNDWARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that
may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot
guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor
can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
