INF: Creating & Filling a Table with Sample Data in SQL Server

If you need to have a table with a large amount of data for running a test, you can use the following control flow language to create and fill a table for this purpose. The table, "x", is defined with the following command:

   create table x (a char(30),b int)

select @count=0
while @count<1000
begin
select @count=@count+1
insert x values( convert(char(30),@count) , @count)
end
