BUG: SQLCursorFetch Generates DB-Lib Error 1101

SYMPTOMS

When attempting to use the Visual Basic Library for SQL Server (VBSQL)SQLCursorFetch function, the following error message is generated for each row being fetched:

DB-LIB Error 1011, Column number out of range


CAUSE

This error message is generated upon a call to SQLCursorFetch when the table has a unique clustered composite index. This happens with either Dynamic (CURFORWARD) or Static (CURDYNAMIC) cursors when the concurrency control is set to CURLOCKCC.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft Visual Basic Library for SQL Server (VBSQL) version 4.2. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
