Trap D with SOCKDRV.OS2

SYMPTOMS

LAN Manager servers running any version up to and including 2.2c may experience a Trap D error with the SOCKDRV.OS2 driver, which is as follows:

CAUSE

Trap D errors occur when a socket driver tries to access the ES segment using offset, which is far beyond the ESLIM.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft LAN Manager version 2.2c. A fix to this problem is in development, but has not been regression-tested and may be destabilizing in production environments. Microsoft does not recommend implementing this fix at this time.
