SYMPTOMS
Your computer running MS-DOS or Windows with LAN Manager version 2.2b or
2.2c TCP/IP network protocol stops responding when a print notification
message returns from a network printer. This only happens if the Messenger
service is enabled on the client and the messages are larger than 128
characters.
CAUSERESOLUTIONTCPTSR.EXE has been updated to fix this problem. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in LAN Manager version 2.2b and 2.2c. A fix to this problem is in development, but has not been regression-tested and may be destabilizing in production environments. Microsoft does not recommend implementing this fix at this time. Contact Microsoft Product Support Services for more information on the availability of this fix. NOTE: The README.TXT file originally released with the Microsoft LAN Manager 2.2c Update states that this fix is included in that patch. It was NOT. Additional query words: prodlm 2.20b 2.20c
