User Storage Limit Doesn't Limit Disk Space for Network Users

We have set up "user storage limits" for all network users using the NET ADMIN command (ACCOUNTS USERS SELECT ZOOM PATHS, USER STORAGE LIMIT). However, this doesn't seem to limit the user's storage space on the server at all. Is this considered to be a problem with OS/2 LAN Manager?

This is not a problem with OS/2 LAN Manager. USER STORAGE LIMIT is used to generate a database that the network administrator employs to determine who is over their assigned storage amounts. It is not a physical storage limit for users.

For administrators to make use of this database, they must run the CHKSTOR utility. CHKSTOR checks the USER STORAGE LIMIT for each user against the amount of storage they have currently in use. CHKSTOR then generates a report of totals for the server or the disk space in use for specified home directories. If the limit is exceeded for the user, an alert is sent to the both the user and administrator (this can be turned off). CHKSTOR is most effectively run with the AT command so that it runs on a daily basis.
