SUMMARYPROBLEM ID: PRLAN9209001 SYMPTOMSFile permissions can be lost when the files are imported by the Replicator Service. This occurs only on HPFS386 machines. Machines running HPFS286 or FAT are unaffected. CAUSEIf a directory tree is to be replicated and there are permissions on the individual files but not on the parent directory, all permissions will be lost. This only happens if there are no ACLs on the parent directory, and the file system is HPFS386. RESOLUTIONThe System Administrator must ensure that ACLs are on all parent directories being exported. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in LAN Manager 2.1. We are researching this problem and will post new information here as it becomes available. Additional query words: 2.1 2.10
