The Microsoft LAN Manager 2.2b patch software is now available for download from a number of electronic services or from your Microsoft product support channel.

You can find LM22B.EXE, a self-extracting file, on the following services:

  • Microsoft's World Wide Web Site on the Internet On the www.microsoft.com home page, click the Support icon. Click Knowledge Base, and select the product. Enter kbfile <FILENAME>.EXE, and click GO! Open the article, and click the button to download the file.


  • Internet (anonymous FTP) ftp ftp.microsoft.com Change to the Softlib/Mslfiles folder. Get LM22B.EXE


  • The Microsoft Network On the Edit menu, click Go To, and then click Other Location. Type mssupport. Double-click the MS Software Library icon. Find the appropriate product area. Locate and Download LM22B.EXE.


  • Microsoft Download Service (MSDL) Dial (425) 936-6735 to connect to MSDL Download LM22B.EXE

CREATING AN INSTALLATION SET

To create a high-density 3.5-inch floppy disk installation set, follow these steps:

  1. Format 3 high-density 3.5-inch floppy disks.


  2. Create a new directory on your hard disk and copy LM22B.EXE to it.


  3. Change to the new directory and type LM22B and press ENTER.


  4. Type MAKE35 <target disk drive> and press ENTER.


  5. Refer to README.TXT on Disk 1 for a list of fixes and installation instructions.
