Installing TCP/IP Utilities on a Remote Boot Workstation
ID: Q99252
|
SUMMARY
When installing the TCP/IP Utilities for Microsoft LAN Manager on a
remoteboot workstation, you may encounter one of the following errors:
- The SETUP program from the \LANMAN.DOS directory instructs you to
stop the Workstation service.
- The TCPSETUP program from the TCP/IP Utilities disk reports :
Cannot find SETUP.INI
MORE INFORMATION
You need to do two things:
- Make sure you're logged on as an admin user on the MS-DOS RPL client,
or you may not have the necessary permissions to install the utilities
into netprog.
- Create c:\lanman.dos\setup.ini from the MS-DOS RPL client before you
try to run TCPSETUP.EXE. It doesn't matter what is in SETUP.INI--a file
containing one blank line will work.
