MORE INFORMATION

The above suggestions do not work with HP EtherTwist model HP27247A adapters and LAN Manager 2.2.

Previous versions of LAN Manager let you choose the HPLAN$ driver for HP27247A adapters, but in LAN Manager 2.2 the choice is HP EtherTwist 8/16 adapters and the driver is HPLANB$. The HPLANB$ works fine with the A series cards until you issue a net stop workstation, at which point the system hangs with a net error 2189.

The only workaround is to copy the HPLAN$ driver manually from a previous version of LAN Manager and edit CONFIG.SYS and PROTOCOL.INI accordingly.
