SYMPTOMS
When using Performance Monitor to watch Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) connection pooling statistics, the ODBC Connection Pooling object and all of its counters occasionally disappear from the list of items available in the Add to Chart dialog box.
CAUSE
The ODBC Driver Manager is incorrectly passing in a NULL pointer as the Security Descriptor argument when calling CreateMutexA and when creating a memory-mapped file through ODBCCreateFileMapping. RESOLUTIONA supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but
it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems
