XCLN: Breaking a Linked Object Removes Object Property

SYMPTOMS

After you break a link to a linked OLE object, the OLE editing property is removed from the object. If you try to edit the object, you will get the following error message:

The source application for the object could not be started.


CAUSE

This is by product design.
