SYMPTOMSWhen you start the Microsoft Exchange client and the Microsoft Exchange Server is down or not available, you receive a dialog box with the following message: The only buttons available in this dialog box are Retry, Work Offline, and Help. However, there is no way to cancel the startup of the client. RESOLUTIONYou can do one of the following:
If you have offline folders or personal folders on your local hard drive, then you can work while not connected to the server, but you must exit and start the client again when the server is available in order for any messages to be delivered. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Exchange version 4.0 Windows NT and Windows 95 clients.
